Privacy Policy
YouTube Playlist is a lightweight tool that estimates YouTube playlist length and total watch time at different speeds. We minimize data processing and only handle what is required to deliver results.
1. Scope
This policy covers data processing when you use the YouTube Playlist calculator (the "Service"). We do not operate accounts, user profiles, or advertising.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept this policy.
2. Information we process
Playlist inputs: the playlist URL/ID and speed parameters you submit, used solely to compute results.
Derived results: totals, projections, and similar metrics produced from your inputs and shown to you in real time; we do not persist these with personally identifiable data.
Technical logs: minimal server logs (e.g., IP, timestamps, status codes) to protect the Service from abuse and for basic diagnostics.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service (e.g., page views, session duration, geographic location). Google Analytics may set cookies and collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
User behavior analytics: We use Microsoft Clarity to understand user interactions through session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity automatically masks sensitive data and does not collect personally identifiable information. Data is processed according to Microsoft's Privacy Policy. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking for marketing purposes.
3. How we use information
Provide the core function: return duration estimates based on your inputs.
Keep the Service secure and available: rate‑limiting, anti‑abuse, and performance monitoring.
Analyze aggregated, de‑identified usage to improve accuracy and reliability.
4. Legal basis
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to process the data you actively submit to provide and secure the Service, and we may process information to comply with legal obligations.
5. Data retention
Playlist inputs and computed results exist only long enough to generate and display them; a short‑lived cache may be used for continuity and then cleared.
Technical logs are kept no longer than 14 days for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We share only with infrastructure providers bound by confidentiality and data‑processing obligations.
When you submit a playlist, the Service may call YouTube/Google APIs to fetch public metadata; such requests are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and YouTube’s Terms of Service.
We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the Service.
7. International data transfers
Our infrastructure may be hosted in the United States or other regions. By using the Service, you consent to processing in those locations, which may have different data-protection standards than your jurisdiction.
Where required, we will rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect transferred data.
If we materially change the destinations or safeguards, we will update this policy and provide additional notice when appropriate.
8. Security
We use TLS, access controls, and least‑privilege principles to safeguard data; however, no method is perfectly secure.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will provide prominent notice for material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the following rights:
- Access: request the data we hold about you (if any).
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: request deletion where no legal basis remains.
- Restriction/objection: limit or object to certain processing.
- Complaint: contact your local data protection authority.
